Kewarra Beach Campus is a compassionate eco-school surrounded by natural beauty. It is rich in school spirit and proudly promotes sustainability, technology and wellbeing initiatives.
The TAS Kewarra Beach Campus educates students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and caters for families who live on the northern beaches and want an independent school education for their children. Our values are compassion, curiosity, integrity and perseverance, and our educators are dedicated to ‘inspiring the curious’.
Our core offering at TAS Kewarra Beach is equal parts learning in the classroom and learning through experience.
Learning in the classroom refers to everything inside the Queensland curriculum including, literacy, numeracy, science, engineering, technologies and mathematics.
Students learn from specialty educators in visual arts, performing arts, physical education, languages and swimming lessons.
Additionally, Prep to Year 6 students participate in a variety of special interest electives, differentiated learning, class run clubs and leadership opportunities.
Learning through experience refers to the extension and enrichment opportunities outside of the Queensland curriculum, that are still critical to the development of our students.
At TAS, learning through experience includes our award-winning Outdoor Education Program, which helps students develop essential life skills; a co-curricular program that includes wellbeing and special interest programs; academic programs; sport and physical activities; and creative programs, such as instrumental or vocal music lessons.
‘Green kids’ encapsulates curricular and co-curricular programs and initiatives that are focused on sustainability and nature-based education.
We are also a Reef Guardian ÑÇÖÞ³ÉÈËÍø, which means we are heavily involved in initiatives such as Clean Up Australia Day, and our beautiful campus is equipped with many resources to inspire curiosity in our students, such as a frog pond, edible garden, worm farm, chicken coop, composting, recycling, outdoor classrooms and learning spaces, and our very own orienteering course.
‘Kind kids’ encapsulates curricular and co-curricular programs and initiatives that are focused on wellbeing and kindness.
Our goal as a school community is to be welcoming and kind. The wellbeing of our students, families and staff is supported by internal and external resources.
Students participate in an excellent pastoral care system that includes a house system and buddies program. Students actively participate in meditation, mindfulness, yoga, chapel craft, charities fair, service projects and much more.
‘Tech kids’ encapsulates curricular and co-curricular programs and initiatives that are focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Our ‘Tech Kids’ benefit from the only full-service primary school science laboratory in Cairns, regularly participate in science workshops and extension clubs such as robotics, drones and coding.
Our community is dedicated to the education, wellbeing and development of our students. In addition, the values of our school – perseverance, integrity, compassion and curiosity – are instilled in everything we do.
We have many groups and events that create a strong culture at Kewarra Beach, including celebrations and events, student-led conferences, assemblies and community groups.
As an accredited Bush Kindy, we inspire curious learners through hands-on play and inquiry-based discovery that promotes social, cognitive, physical and emotional development. Our team of dedicated and qualified educators view school readiness as a holistic objective, and the early years as a valuable opportunity to instil a lifelong love of learning.
They work in partnership with parents to ensure children ‘graduate’ to Prep as confident learners, equipped with the values of the school as tools for success – perseverance, integrity, compassion and curiosity.
