Our students achieve consistently high academic results because they鈥檙e engaged and connected. This is in due to our outstanding teachers, the alignment of family and school values, and a culture of inquiry and learning.
TAS holds high academic expectations for its students and teachers. In Secondary 亚洲成人网, approximately 95% of our Year 12 students achieve an ATAR. Academically we expect that 10% of our boys and girls should score in the top 3% in Queensland, 10% should achieve a Certificate of Academic Commendation, and 60% of students achieve an ATAR score >85.
We believe that TAS students should have strong numeracy and literacy skills, and these are apparent in our NAPLAN scores 鈥� which keep growing year after year. The focus on public speaking, critical and analytical thinking, personal development and global connections prepares our graduates to engage and succeed in a rapidly changing world.
At TAS the learning starts at an early age through flexible and creative programs in our Early Learning Centers. The core literacy and numeracy skills are then developed through the use of explicit, direct instructional learning in the Early Years phase (P-4), balanced with the introduction of a range of student-centered and collaborative pedagogies as students mature in their approach to learning.
The Middle Years phase has a strong student well-being element as students move from childhood into adolescence, providing the necessary tools for them to navigate through their teens into adulthood. Year 9 sees a further focus on the development of independence, character, and resilience, culminating in the Year 9 Outdoor Education Journey, an 18-day experience of personal growth like no other.
The Year 10 program is 鈥渇utures oriented鈥� and includes our Pathways Program, Work Experience, Leadership Development Program, and an increasing focus on preparing for Senior Phase subjects.
