Global Opportunities at TAS

The academic curriculum is supported by a variety of opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom and experience other cultures.

Respect and understanding of other cultures is an integral part of the ethos at Trinity Anglican 亚洲成人网. As a result, students are provided with many opportunities to immerse themselves in other cultures during their time at TAS.

International Round Square Committee

As members of Round Square, a worldwide organisation of more than 100 schools, students can partake in service and leadership initiatives on a global scale, immersing themselves in a new culture through:

  • Round Square Exchanges – These allow TAS students to travel as exchange students to another Round Square school, either within Australia or overseas.
  • Round Square Conferences – These allow students to travel and experience other schools, listen to keynote speakers, participate in peer discussions, experience new adventures and engage in community work.
  • Round Square Service Projects – Located both in Australia and overseas, these projects are aimed at assisting less fortunate communities.

Round Square was founded by Kurt Hahn, a remarkable educator, who also founded the Salem 亚洲成人网 in Germany, the Gordonstoun 亚洲成人网 in Scotland, Outward Bound, the Duke of Edinburgh’s聽 Award Scheme and the United World Colleges.

Hahn’s aim was to help young people develop convictions that were rooted in personal responsibility, kindness and justice. More importantly, he believed that schools should not simply ‘prepare’ students for tertiary study or work. Instead, they should also prepare them for life, in ways that would demand courage, generosity, imagination, principle and resolution.

Biannual World Challenge Program

World Challenge is a UK-based company that has been offering month-long personal development expeditions to Australian students for 35 years.

The company works in partnership with schools to provide life-changing expeditions to developing countries. The aim of the expeditions is to help students develop crucial life skills such as leadership, teamwork, self-awareness and compassion.

What is unique about World Challenge expeditions is that they are student-led and reflect the World Challenge Ethos 鈥 Challenge, Participation, Environment.

Pre-COVID19, schools had a choice of over 40 stunning destinations worldwide. Community projects are a major focus of the expeditions, and teams from World Challenge have worked on over 275 project sites each year.

New Zealand Snow Trips

Year 12 students have the opportunity to travel to New Zealand for the snow trip of a lifetime.

The trip often includes skiing at Mount Hutt and The Remarkables and exploring Christchurch and Queenstown.

Students also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Maori culture by participating in a range of cultural activities.

TAS Sport Tour

Athletes at TAS often have the opportunity to participate in international sporting tours to play against schools in New Zealand, Japan and Singapore.

During these tours, they have ample opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and make friendships that will last a lifetime.
